The Hidden Valley Shed accommodation has been taken off market for a period of time.

With all the difficulties people are experiencing with long term rentals we have a friend staying there until other accommodation is available and affordable.
He thinks it is not a bad place to hang out for a while!!

Hidden Valley Shed is nestled within the Anacotilla River gorge bushland, close to the junction of the Anacotilla River and its tributary Hidden Valley Creek.

The Shed will appeal particularly to those who are interested in taking a number of days’ time out, being close to nature, leaving technology behind. Kangaroos and over 60 species of birds call it their home, with many pairs of birds nesting in the 300 yr old trees during spring.

In winter particularly, calls of frogs and the Boobok Owl can be heard at night over the trickle of the creek which is great company when out looking up at the clear star-studded winter sky. There is an abundance of walking opportunities along the Gorge just outside the door, or you can walk further within the 53ha property and venture to the historic weir or higher up the property for more commanding views.

The kitchen has all you need for basic cooking, with many condiments already there, so you don’t need to bring them. The Shed is well set up so you can enjoy your meals, a coffee or the occasional glass of wine sitting outside in nature, or cosy inside. The living area is spacious (9m x 6m), and the combustion heater makes for lovely warm winter nights reading, chatting or playing cards. In summer you can use the many opening windows to create refreshing cross-breezes.

We are on the way to Kangaroo Island and within easy drive of the Heysen trail and many other walking and running tracks as well as beaches, townships and some of our local wineries and micro-breweries. On the property there are a number of walks along the weir, Anacotilla River and gorge or a walk up the hill to the top of the property for those more commanding views.
